Wooder Ice: The East Passyunk Opera Project is Having an Outdoor Mother’s Day Pop-up Concert!

East Passyunk Business Improvement District is bring back the outdoor fun and music this Mother’s Day May 9th. Enjoy the sounds of the East Passyunk Opera Project (ePOP) as they present a 1-hour concert at the Singing Fountain at Tasker & E. Passyunk. The event will consist of musical theater, opera, and classical art song honoring motherhood, springtime, and all things blooming in promotion and anticipation of the PHS Flower Show which will take place in South Philadelphia this June. Guest artists for this concert include mezzo-soprano Kathryn Leemhuis, baritone Todd Thomas, soprano Katrina Thurman, and pianist and ePOP Music Director, Aurelien Eulert.

Thurman says: “East Passyunk Opera Project is an organization that focuses on making opera and musical theatre accessible to the broader public. Part of ePOP’s mission is to collaborate with and lift up local businesses and artists while helping to raise funding and awareness for organizations that make a positive impact upon our community. I am deeply honored to be nominated as a candidate for Woman of the Year with LLS. And ePOP is thrilled for this opportunity to partner with and lift up the extraordinary work of LLS by reaching our goal of $100,000 raised by Team ePOP for the Cure.”

The Pop of Ages concert is at 3PM Saturday, April 24 at the Mifflin Triangle located at E. Passyunk Ave. & Mifflin Streets. My Mini Boutique for Charity sidewalk sale will take place outside of RE/MAX ONE Realty at 1842 E. Passyunk Ave. The sale is available on Friday, April 23 by appointment only from 4PM-8PM and available to the public on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday April 25 from 11AM-4PM with special pop-up deals occurring on Sunday. ePOP’s Mother’s Day concert will take place at 4PM on Sunday, May 9 at the Singing Fountain in East Passyunk, located at Tasker Street and E. Passyunk Ave. COVID-safe precautions will be observed.
